Personally, I think the two go hand in hand.

“An it harm none do what ye will.”

To me this statement says:

• Do not harm yourself (No smoking, drugs, self harm, suicide,  bad diet, etc)
• Do not harm others (People and animals alike)
• Do not harm the Earth (pretty self explanatory)
• Treat others as you wish to be treated (again people and animals)

i’m vegan and pagan, but not wiccan. I dunno, I think morality should be developed by the person and not policed by any religion or school of thought. I chose to be vegan while at the same time being ok with harming things. But things that deserve it. The witch that can’t hex can’t heal etc etc, but I would never harm an innocent creature and that’s why I’m vegan. Just my two cents.

Sorcerers of the past often wore the pelts and ate the flesh of their animal guides to know their spirit. I see nothing wrong with this. But this is also why it is wise to wait for the parts to cross your path. All of my horns and bones and feathers I have found on walks with spirit in mind, and I have always thanked the spirits. 

Veganism just doesn’t seem to click with my ancestors hehe

Limiting “harm none” only to animals is chauvinistic. Plants may not have nervous systems like animals, but it doesn’t mean they don’t have spirits—or, for that matter, that they aren’t deserving of respect. Likewise, rivers, mountains, and other “nonliving” parts of the landscape are deserving of respect. To harm any of these is to damage the whole. To say “I am better and more Wiccan because I am vegan”, and then go and eat a salad made from conventionally grown plants sprayed with harmful pesticides, picked by abused migrant workers, and shipped thousands of miles from their origin, is highly hypocritical.

Hmmm I must have missed the part where I said I was a better Wiccan because I am vegan…

And nothing says respecting “plants” and “non-living parts of the landscape” like your meat and dairy production. It’s not like it uses up vast swathes of land and pollutes rivers and produces massive amounts of greenhouse gases. And it’s totally respecting those migrant workers you talk about who… wait a minute… work in the abattoirs! For almost no money and doing incredibly dangerous work. You’re just a kind, loving soul aren’t you thegreenwolf?
